FAQ
FAQ 1:
How do we get to park on Main Street and downtown on Friday of the Show?
In order to get on Main Street on Friday Morning, you must first be registered with the Show, have your armbands on your wrist and your weekend registration window sticker on your car. You must go to Sobeys Parking lot on Vaughn Harvey where a special small sticker will be placed on your windshield that shows you have registered additionally to go to Main Street. Many folks actually line up at Sobeys on Thursday evening to be first on Main Street so there is quite a demand to get there.
We send the cars from Sobeys to Main Street at approximately 8:00 a.m. and the street is generally full by the time we have emptied that parking lot. As people are free to enter and leave our events at all times, some of those who make their way to Main Street (and side streets) early on Friday will leave during the day. However there are no additional spaces on Main Street during the day, only those left IF someone else leaves. We also do not have personnel to park cars through the day, although some security personnel may direct you to a spot on the downtown area.
At 6:00 we have made arrangements with Corey Craig Enterprises to use their parking lot which is on Main Street between Tim Hortons and the Mexi building. You must enter that lot from the side street entrance, and the Company uses the lot until 6:00 so we can only use it after that time.
FAQ 2:
Can I just register “the old way” with paper and cash and not do that on line stuff?
Simple answer is… yes, you can, but you really really do not want to! There are two main reasons why we have moved to the on line system:
1) Covid and other diseases are still out there and with us and it has become impossible to ask people to pass paper, money and everything else that moves in an enclosed registration room with a whole lot of, mainly strangers. which leads to:
2) When we did it the old paper based system, we would line up over 100 volunteers to take care of the Registration process. Remember, that system was open long hours for four days, requiring that big number of people. Well, due to a number of reasons, in this post COVID world, we simply cannot get those great volunteers to come and work all weekend, inside with little chance to enjoy anything to do with the Show. Remember.. EVERYONE is a volunteer! As a result, we are working with around 20 volunteers last year, and similar this year. Their primary job at registration is now to give those who have registered on line their credentials and related. This year, the registration Team will be open to pass out these credentials only on Wednesday evening at ACTION Car and Truck, Thursday morning at the Moncton Coliseum BEFORE the “Maurice’s Magical Mystery Cruise” departs at 9:00 , Thursday afternoon at the AJM Open House and on Friday and Saturday at the Moncton Coliseum Agrena rear entrance. The Registration Team is VERY busy on Wednesday and Thursday and as a result they will NOT be doing ANY on site last minute paper based registrations!
If people still choose to do a paper based registration, this will ONLY be available on Friday, Saturday and single day on Sunday. The line up will be a slow moving process as priority will be given to those who pre registered and are there to pick up their credentials. You WILL need your credentials in order to attend all activities on Thursday and Friday and throughout the weekend. On site registration will be available, however for a cost of $70.00
Please take a moment to do the on line registration. If you did it last year, it is super quick and easy to do it the second time. If you are concerned about doing it, ask someone who is great on a computer… Many are saying their kids and grandkids are doing it for them.. A friend, co worker or other will be able to do it.. Heck.. I have to be the least computer literate person in the world, and I did it all by myself in 2021 and 2022!
FAQ 3:
I sold the car that I registered. Can I take another car or do I have to pay to change cars?
It is very important that you have the proper car registered! Remember, if you win a major Grand Prize on Sunday, you will be asked to see your registered vehicle in person and well, if you registered a 1956 Crown Victoria, but brought your 69 Road Runner and did not tell us about the change… sorry, you did not win.. So please please let us know if you are changing your vehicle!
It is really easy with the on line registration. You only have to advise the folks at Registration when you come in to pick up your credentials for the Show! They will happily take care of this for you at NO additional charge to you!
Everyone has to fill in their vehicle information on the window stickers this year, but you MUST let the Team know so they get it right for the Grand Prize draws!
So please remember.. if you are changing vehicles, please let us know and we will make the changes on the computer system so you WILL be able to claim grand prize!
FAQ 4:
Why is the information on my car not showing on the window sticker this year? Why do I have to fill this in?
Interestingly enough, last year we had over 600 vehicle changes.. Hard to believe! That said, all of the window stickers had been completely filled in with owners name, vehicle number, year and make of vehicle, etc. A whole lot of work, and a whole lot of wasted window stickers as well. In fact we completely ran out of the blue stickers and had to switch to a different colour sticker. To alleviate that, this year, your window sticker will have your car number and name only. There will be markers at registration so you can fill in the vehicle registration information on your window sticker.
People want to know about your car, so please take a quick moment to fill in that information!
FAQ 5:
When will pre registration close?
A Very good, but puzzling question to be sure! ..remember… We are ALL volunteers doing the Show, and if everyone waits until the last second to register, we will be swamped… Mistakes will happen, the line up at manual registration will get longer.. and the work to get everything ready for everyone who pre registers will be put off to the last minute, making it very difficult to get everything done!
So PLEASE PLEASE Get your registrations in early Help us save the workload and make the whole process easier for all involved!!!
That said, We WILL be closing registration on Sunday night, July 2 at midnight…Anything after that will be done at the Moncton Coliseum on FRIDAY and Saturday and will be second priority to those who have pre registered. Line ups will be long for manual registration, and you will not be able to participate in anything on Wednesday, Thursday or Friday until you are registered, and it will cost you $70.00 not $60.00 if you pre register!!
FAQ 6:
Where will the (name of car here) Parking area be this year?
We ask any Clubs or Groups that wish to park together to ask us in advance to make arrangements to do so. Space is limited in Centennial Park and we cannot hold an area for anyone when we do not know who is looking at parking as a group.
Please select a group leader and initiate a conversation with the Atlantic Nationals Team to determine where and how they wish to park.
We welcome ALL types of vehicles to the Show, but need to know if there are groups coming so we can ensure adequate space is made for all involved.. Please help us to help make your group all it can be!
FAQ 7:
What is my car number?
The reason that you did not receive a number is because our on line system does not generate one and so you will not require a number as our Registration Team has everything in alphabetical order. You will receive your number when you arrive at our Registration Fulfillment area to pick up your window sticker, arm bands and related.
